Priority Enrollment Program (PEP)
Reserve your seat for one of the following dates of the PEP program:
- Saturday, April 19, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 23, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
This program is designed to create an easy transition from high school to college for senior high school students. It will allow students to complete the necessary steps in becoming a college student in a short period of time, and early in the registration period! This is a great opportunity for getting priority admission and access to early registration for the Summer and Fall 2008 semesters.
PEP offers students:
- Orientation to College – you will meet with individuals from support services who will provide you with guidance and necessary information.
- Placement Testing – will determine the level of your math and English and assist Counselors to place you in an appropriate course. To expedite your enrollment, we recommend that you take the placement test on the PEP day. However, if you miss the test, you may still take it at another time. The test schedule is available on-line. Please note that there is no time limit on the test.
- Group Counseling – will provide you with general information on programs and the College requirements.
- Financial Aid Workshop – is an extensive workshop providing information about financial aid availability. Financial Aid advisors will be available to provide guidance with completing necessary forms.
- Campus Tour - will be provided to help you find your way around campus.
- Appointment for one on one Counseling – you leave with a Counseling appointment which gives you an opportunity to discuss your educational and career goals with a Counselor.

3. What comes next after you submit your reservation form:
- A confirmation letter will be mailed to you from the Office of Counseling verifying your PEP reservation date. This will also including arrival time and a PEP day/evening agenda.
- At the end of the PEP day/evening, you will receive a scheduled appointment within the next two weeks to meet with a Counselor to help you select appropriate classes to match your educational goals, such as transferring to a four-year college, earning an Associate Degree or entering into a Certificate program.
- After you meet with a Counselor, you will receive a priority registration date that will allow you to register for classes ahead of almost all other new students.

Special Summer Opportunity
When you meet with a Counselor at Cañada College, be sure to discuss the option of taking a course or two during the summer session. This will allow you to get a head start on your College education. There is a wide variety of day and evening classes available, and many are sure to be right for you.
