Jessica Einhorn Brings Love of World Cultures to Cañada

After traveling the world and finding adventure around every corner, Anthropology Professor Jessica Einhorn has landed at Cañada College where she is teaching students about world cultures – including their own.

Einhorn has started an Anthropology Club and plans to bring different guest speakers to campus that will help students better understand people and societies from around the world. “Culture is everywhere and you can’t avoid it,” said Alma Nuñez, an anthropology major who plans to transfer to UC-Berkeley. “You can’t avoid human culture. The Anthropology Club makes it fun.”

A trained archaeologist, Einhorn plans to introduce a new archaeology class where students will have the opportunity to go into the field. “It’s hands-on,” she said. “If you are tired of a traditional lecture class, you’ll enjoy archaeology because we’ll take field trips, learn about identifying artifacts and dating techniques, and get your hands dirty in the field.”
