Faculty Professional Development Resources

  • Please see a description of activities for each program on the application form.
    Deadline for Long-Term proposals for Spring semester is October 15 and March 1 for Fall semester.
  • Proposals for Short-Term Professional Development may be submitted throughout the year.

If the deadline date falls on a non-working day, applications are due the next business day.

Description of proposals:

  1. LONG -TERM proposal activities include retraining, advanced study, and research. This fund provides full pay for any number of units of semester-long reassigned time.
    Eligibility: Third and fourth year tenure track and full-time faculty.
  2. SHORT-TERM proposal activities include retraining or improving existing skills. Typical activities include conferences, workshops and seminars. This fund provides substitute pay for release time, as well as conference or other registration fees.
    Eligibility: Adjunct and full-time faculty.
  3. SABBATICAL/EXTENDED LEAVE
    Eligibility: Full-time tenured faculty
    Deadline for Applications is March 1

There are limited transportation and lodging funds available, with a maximum of $200 per person/per year allowed in-state, and $300 out-of-state. Please refer to the application for reimbursement requirements.
