Applicants are required to file a complete application for admission along with supported documentation on or before April 15 for Fall semester, and October 1st for Spring semester.

Fall semester begins in mid August.

Spring semester begins in mid January.

New Students Orientation and Registration will take place at least two weeks prior to the first day of classes.  Please allow enough time for processing all documents, taking placement tests, and meeting with an academic counselor.

     


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

1. Application for Admission

2. Financial Data Form

3. Bank Verification of Funds: You must submit one of the following:
A formal written statement from a bank certifying that either the prospective student or sponsor has sufficient funds (at least $16,000 in US dollars) on deposit to ensure full payment of expenses for the first academic year at Cañada College.

A copy of a notarized Affidavit of Support Form (I-134), which your sponsor may need to submit to the U.S. Consulate. Please note that this financial information will remain strictly confidential

4. Official Transcripts: You must submit all Secondary/High School, College, and Language School academic records. They must be official English translations.

Applicants who are currently attending a U.S. High school must submit the seventh (7th) semester transcript. The final, eighth (8th) semester transcript must be submitted when you graduate in order to complete your high school record.

 

5. TOEFL Score Reports: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a requirement for all applicants for whom English is a second language. A minimum TOEFL score of 480 on paper based test, or 55 Internet based test, or 157 on computer based test is required for admission to Cañada College

Institutional TOEFL is frequently offered at various locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Cañada College will accept the results of both of these tests if they are verified by the institutions administrating them (Cañada College – Code Number: 4109).

TOEFL results will be waived for students from nations where English is their primary language. The TOEFL requirement can also be waived if the applicant has completed English as a Second Language Program from a language school in the United States, including: Language Pacifica, Golden Gate Language school, ELS Language Centers (level 109).

Students who have completed the last three years of a U.S. High school are not required to present the TOEFL.

6. Personal Essay: A brief written statement (about 300 words) explaining your educational/career goals and why you wish to study at Cañada College.
