Studio Policies

No food or drink on or near the computers. There is a designated spot at the front of the classroom where you can place your bottles, cups or food items.

Do not change the settings on the computers. This includes the desktop attributes, display settings, resolution and other preset characteristics of the machines.

It is not permitted to download and/or install extraneous software to the computers without previous consent from an instructor.

Please do not create software "short cuts" on the desktop, or leave any other files on the desktop of the computer. These will be deleted and you may lose your work.

Do not remove any of the equipment, books, supplies or artwork from the studio.

Save all your files in a folder with your name in the Documents or My Documents folder. Remember to back up all your files on zip disks or CD-ROMs because we cannot guarantee that they will not be erased.

The studio will be open for homework and lab hours during the week at specifc times. Please check the schedule before you come in, it is very important that you do not interrupt ongoing classes.

There are two laser printers available to all the students, both color and greyscale. Use them, but don't abuse them. The Epson large format deskjet printer is also available, but only with the assistance of an instructor or a lab tech. Any custom paper you want to use must be okayed by the lab assistant or instructor before printing.

The printers are for printing projects and lab assignments from the multimedia classes only. Please use other printers on campus for printing from the web, email, assignments from other classes or personal documents.

If you do not know how to use some equipment please ask for help.

It is very important that you take care of the equipment, the installations and the supplies. There are many people that will be using them, so be respectful and leave things as you found them.
