Studio Policies
No
food or drink on or near the computers. There is a designated spot
at the front of the classroom where you can place your bottles, cups
or food items.
Do
not change the settings on the computers. This includes the desktop
attributes, display settings, resolution and other preset characteristics
of the machines.
It
is not permitted to download and/or install extraneous software to
the computers without previous consent from an instructor.
Please
do not create software "short cuts" on the desktop, or leave
any other files on the desktop of the computer. These will be deleted
and you may lose your work.
Do
not remove any of the equipment, books, supplies or artwork from the
studio.
Save
all your files in a folder with your name in the Documents or My Documents
folder. Remember to back up all your files on zip disks or CD-ROMs
because we cannot guarantee that they will not be erased.
The
studio will be open for homework and lab hours during the week at specifc
times. Please check the schedule before you come in, it is very important
that you do not interrupt ongoing classes.
There
are two laser printers available to all the students, both color and
greyscale. Use them, but don't abuse them. The Epson large format deskjet
printer is also available, but only with the assistance of an instructor
or a lab tech. Any custom paper you want to use must be okayed by the
lab assistant or instructor before printing.
The
printers are for printing projects and lab assignments from the multimedia
classes only. Please use other printers on campus for printing from
the web, email, assignments from other classes or personal documents.
If
you do not know how to use some equipment please ask for help.
It
is very important that you take care of the equipment, the installations
and the supplies. There are many people that will be using them, so
be respectful and leave things as you found them.
