Welcome Back Week Begins Feb. 2
Learn about student clubs, services, and enjoy a barbecue.

Learn about campus clubs, student services and enjoy a free barbecue at this semester's Welcome Back Week celebration being organized by the Associated Students of Cañada College. Events include:
- CLUB RUSH & Program Services Fair, Wednesday, Feb. 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the quad. Details: Here is your chance to interaact with organizers of student clubs such as, People of the Pacific, Spectrum Alliance, Pre-Med Club. Learn more about student service programs such as Financial Aid, TRiO, even Veterans Services. Students who visit six clubs will get a free “I am Student Life” t-shirt and Pizza. Entertainment: Will be Cañada College’s own Phi Theta Kappa Vice President of Public Affairs and singer songwriter: Natalie Wills. Cost: Free! *ASCC is still taking table reservations for CLUB RUSH, so if you are thinking about starting a club, please email Victoria Worch, Coordinator of Student Activities at worchv@smccd.edu by Friday, Jan. 28.
- Spirit Thursday, Thursday, Feb. 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the quad. Details: Spirit Thursday is all about showing your college pride. The first 100 people wearing Cañada Gear or have a Cañada Student ID get free lunch. It is also Chinese New Year! Entertainment: We'll be celebrating our Men’s Basketball team by hosting a Velcro wall and Inflatable Basketball hoops. Hope to see you there!
- ASCC General Board Meeting, Friday, Feb. 4 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Student Activities/ASCC Office, Building 9, Room 154. Details: Ever thought about joining Student Government? Or want to help plan events on campus? Or maybe you are looking to meet new people? Come check out ASCC in action at our weekly board meeting. The requirements to be an ASCC senator are Cumulative GPA of 2.0, be enrolled in at least six units at Cañada and attend three ASCC meetings.
- Men's Basketball vs. San Francisco City College, Friday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. Details: This is a rematch between two of the top teams in the state. City College is ranked No. 3 and Cañada No. 7. City College beat the Colts earlier this year and now Cañada is looking to even the score. Come join us and wear your Cañada Gear! Cost: Free for Cañada Students.
