• Wed, Aug 25th 11:30-1:30pm – Campus Welcome Party - enjoy great music and free food from "La Casita Chilanga" while learning about campus clubs, departments, and programs. If you have an idea for a club on campus or simply want to find people with similar interests, this is the perfect event for you.  All MESA-related clubs should plan to staff a table to recruit new members.

• Mon Aug 23rd noon-1pm ASCC & Administrative Council Ice Cream Social members of student government and the college administration will be serving free ice cream in the outdoor amphitheater. Students can learn about the college, how to become involved in student government, and win free prizes.

• Friday, May 7th  5:30pm  @ Canada Gym -- MESA, Cañada Scholarship & Transfer Recognition Ceremony  pbring your family and friends on Friday evening, May 7th to celebrate the accomplishments of MESA Transfer students, Cañada’s first Honors Scholar Transfers and all recipients of the Cañada Scholarships and Cañada NSF Scholarships.  Great food, lots to celebrate!   Food will be served at 5:30pm, the ceremony begins at 6:15pm.

• Tues-Wed, 5/4 & 5/5 in Sacramento – MESA Forum at the Capitol  MESA Director Cathy Lipe will be taking two students to Sacramento for two days of visits with legislators and more.

• Friday, 4/23, 2-4:30 p.m.-- Volunteers Needed for Cañada’s Annual High School Engineering Design Competition – The annual high school engineering design contest is the afternoon, this Friday April 23 and there is a need for a few more volunteers. This is great event where students from the nearby high schools compete with their designs in a fun and challenging afternoon. This year, the contest is Trebuchet design for maximum distance. • Wed, March 17, 11am-1pm, Club Day combined with Science and Engineering Awareness Day -- Learn about Engineering, see the Engineering Blimp and Engineering posters presented by SHPE members -- Main Quad.
• Thurs, March 11, 12:30-1:45pm– MESA Math Challenge tackle 20 math questions in 60 minutes.  There’s NO downside to participating – no public humiliation!  Individual scores will not be shared with anyone (and you’ll really impress your math professor simply by participating, several are offering extra credit!).  The top 5 scores from Cañada students will be our “team” and that group will be ranked with teams from other MESA programs in our region and across the state.

• Thurs, March 4, 6-8 p.m., Family Science Night at Hoover School in Redwood City.  Volunteer to help inspire young kids about Science and Engineering.
