Biographical Sketch

Mr. Thiele is a customer- and results-oriented manager who has been successful in a variety of endeavors. His formal education includes a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and an Executive MBA. His background includes industry diversity, small business entrepreneurship, and 20 years as a senior manager.

• Starting his career in the oil fields for Schlumberger, he moved to Goodyear Tire and rubber at the Los Angeles Plant as Senior Development Engineer.
• Following the Goodyear Plant closure he spent six years at Ameron as Engineering Manager where he managed projects in Saudi Arabia, and throughout the US.
• After one year as a Stock Broker for Baraban Securities he was hired by Calspan at NASA/Ames research center as Quality, Safety, & Training manager. He was promoted to Operations Branch Manager supervising a department of up to 85 employees. These consisted of both union craft personnel and non-union professionals.
• Most recently as co-founder of eXLearn.com, Mr. Thiele led the effort to avoid bankruptcy and successfully dissolved the company returning capital to investors. EXLearn was an on-line education portal targeting the Japanese market. At eXLearn, he held the position of CFO, Chairman, and VP Human Resources.
• As partner in Bash Entertainment he helped establish “The Garden of Eden” in Hollywood, a very successful supper/nightclub.
• As a Quality Consultant, he has helped several small companies achieve ISO certification in record time.
• As a property manager/investor he successfully managed several properties over a 25 year period. Most recently he increased the income for the American Legion in Los Altos by 50% over the past two years.
• Since 1999, he has been teaching courses in Management, Human Relations, Organizational Behavior and Human Resources as Adjunct Faculty at Cañada College and DeAnza College.
