Kevin Kaatz
History
My first Bachelor’s Degree was in Zoology/Biological Anthropology from the University of Michigan. I worked for a number of years doing Neurological research and went back to the University of Michigan and received a B.A. degree in Religious Studies. I went on to get an M.A. in Biblical Languages from the Graduate Theological Union and a Ph.D. in Ancient History from Macquarie University, Sydney Australia (2004). My research interests are in early Christianity from Late Antiquity (200-500 CE), especially in the interplay between various forms of Christianity. I have taught courses ranging from Ancient Greek Religion, courses in Early Christianity in Late Antiquity to Race, an Epic Poetry course at Las Positas College and Ethnicity and Immigration in the U.S. at Cañada College. I will soon be teaching Western Civilization II for Shasta College. My publications include those in the area of Neurology, a co-authored book titled Hegemonius, Acta Archelai (The Acts of Archelaus), Manichaean Studies, Vol. 4 (Brepols, 2001) and most recently I published a book chapter in Frontiers of Faith: The Christian-Manichaean Encounter in the Acts of Archelaus, which will come out in Sept. 2007.
My hobbies include gardening, cooking and reading science fiction.
