Patrick Marder

History

My educational background began with High School in Southern California, then Pasadena City College prior to transferring to UC Berkeley, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History.  After that I went to the Sorbonne, Cambridge, the University of Poitiers for graduate study, before finishing with a doctorate at the University of Strasburg.

In 2005, a number of my articles were published in Britain by the Crimean War Research Society.  My research and teaching interests include the interaction of technology and society (I am currently helping a graduate student from VA Tech develop a predictive model of innovation and technology), recent US social history that integrates economic and social statistics in a comparative format, as well as the history of global trade networks.
