Programs for College Students

Overview

Cañada College has a number of programs designed to provide unique opportunities for students, allowing them to focus full-time on their studies and fully benefit from a support system provided through The STEM Center at Cañada College. Programs for college student aim to increase student success by providing tutoring, Academic Excellence Workshops, peer mentoring, scholarships and internships.  Additionally, students are engaged in leadership development, scientific seminars, and field trips to industry and 4-year universities.

COMETS Summer Internship  Online Application 

Purpose

Improve math placement test result and prepare to take math

(Math Jam home)

Review physics or prepare to take physics

Improve academic success of engineering students

Eligibility

  • Students planning to attend Cañada College in Fall;
  • Current Cañada students looking to improve their math skills
  • High School graduating seniors attending Cañada College in Summer/Fall 2015;
  • Completion of Calculus 1

Engineering major at an SMCCD campus;
Complete 24 college credit units;
Citizen or permanent resident

Summer 2015 Math Jams:

June 8-13:

Daytime Program: Monday through Friday 9am-3pm*

Evening Program: Monday through Friday 6-9pm*


August 10-15:

Daytime Program: Monday through Friday 9am-3pm*

Evening Program: Monday through Friday 6pm-9pm*

*Placement Test retakes available Saturday Morning

Summer 2015 Physics Jam:

June 2-13:

Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm
