Accounting is considered the “language of all business,” and is a valuable skill set for anyone wishing to work in Silicon Valley. Accounting offers an exciting and rewarding career to people who can work with numbers, focus on details, use a computer, and work as a team.
At Cañada College, our Business Department equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in various business fields. We offer a range of Associate’s Degrees and Certificates in Business, Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, and Office Technology.
Since 1998, the Digital Art & Animation Program at Cañada College has been committed to providing both the academic and training skills necessary to succeed in the design industry, whether in graphic design, web design, photography, 3D animation and video game art, or video game development and design.
The Education & Human Development (EHD) Department at Cañada College supports students interested in working with children and families in their communities. Whether exploring careers in education, social work, and/or community organizations EHD can help you achieve your goals.
Economics not only contributes to a liberal arts education, it is a practical major that enables students to enter fields as diverse as finance, consulting, law, public planning, and business. Economics is a favorite major for those heading to graduate school.
Fashion is more than the latest trend or hottest craze. Since 1968, Cañada College’s Fashion Design and Merchandising Program has been a leader in Bay Area Fashion education. The Fashion Department works to create confident and skilled graduates. Our alumnus leave ready to excel in a variety of fashion industry jobs.
The Human Services program at Cañada College was developed in cooperation with State and County Departments of Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Human Services. The program is designed to train personnel to provide value-based services for families in need of temporary social, health, and economic assistance. State and county agencies, nonprofit and private providers of services, social workers, psychologists, and medical personnel work in this field.
For over 50 years, the Interior Design Department has offered courses to people interested in preparing for careers in the professional fields of interior design including specialization in Kitchen & Bath Design. The program includes a transfer path, an Associate's degree, and three Certificates of Achievement.
The Medical Assisting Program at Cañada College is designed to provide the finest training and experience available. Through the expertise of a talented faculty, and exposure to professionals in the field, students can expect to learn administrative duties such as medical/ financial records management, medical report transcription, patient appointment scheduling, and clinical duties including preparation of patients for examination, assistance with minor surgery, giving injections, and operating electrocardiographs.
Since 1979, Cañada College's Paralegal Program has been training people to work as paralegals, preparing people for law school, and preparing foreign attorneys for enrollment in a Masters in Law (LLM) program. Our Paralegal Program offers an innovative and personalized learning experience that enables students to apply the legal theory they are learning with the practical skills necessary for success in a legal career.
Work Experience Education is a working partnership between the student-employee, the college, and the employer which enables students to earn college credit for learning on the job. The program creates a working-learning environment which is not normally possible in a college classroom.
