Tutoring Assistance Available

Students – if you need assistance with your courses, please come see the Learning Center for help. There are tutors in a variety of subjects just waiting to help you! Here are a few things to note when using tutoring:

  1. To receive tutoring services, learners must be enrolled in LCTR 698 (CRN: 46768). This is a zero-cost, zero-unit course that allows us to track tutoring usage (you will not see it on your transcript). If you are considering using tutoring services please be prepared to enroll (via WebSmart) on the day of your first tutoring session (drop-in or appointment).
  2. You can now schedule tutoring appointments! You are able to schedule 30-minute tutoring sessions, either, virtually via Zoom or face-to-face in the Learning Center. Appointments must be made 12 hours in advance. Multiple no-shows for scheduled appointments may take away your scheduling privileges.
  3. Drop-In tutoring (immediate, first come, first served tutoring service with no appointment needed) will only be available in the Learning Center as a face-to-face service. Virtual tutoring service, via Zoom, is available by appointment only.
  4. The Tutoring Website is available at https://canadacollege.edu/learningcenter/tutoring.php. It has the current schedule of tutors (it is updated daily to show if a tutor will be in for their designated time), and links to make, reschedule, and attend appointments (directions are also provided). Also, there is information on how to best use tutoring.

For any other questions about tutoring, please contact the Tutor Coordinator, Julian Taylor, taylorj@smccd.edu.

Cañada College Begins Mural Community Paint Days

We paused our painting plans as we encountered stormy weather the last couple weeks. The rain clouds have vanished for now and Cañada College’s historic first mural is ready to be painted by the campus and greater community. The Mural Project Committee invites the campus and greater community to be a part of this special milestone and participate in community paint days (April 10 – 13). Everyone is welcome! To sign up for community paint days, click here.

This Week at The Grove Cafe

Visit The Grove and experience the daily handcrafted Fusion specials of Chef Jackie! *Chef specials are ordered in person and cannot be ordered online. For the complete menu, this week’s specials, online ordering options, and takeout orders, please visit The Grove Café website.

Requirement Reminder

San Mateo County’s current COVID Community Level is LOW, and face masks are strongly recommended but not required indoors at any SMCCCD facility. As the San Mateo County community-level changes, information will be provided to students, employees, and visitors. At levels where masking is required, the exemption of not wearing a mask while actively eating or drinking still applies.
