October is Transfer Month!
On Tuesdays in October, we invite faculty and staff to proudly wear their Alma Mater, or shirt from the university of their choice, to promote transfer options and share their experience at the university with students. For virtual learners, you may also use a background of your Alma Mater or university logo in the Zoom background and/or any other platforms that we meet with students virtually.

Financial Aid Applications Are Now Open – Apply Today!
The 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (www.fafsa.gov) and California Dream Act (https://dream.csac.ca.gov/) applications are available now! The Financial Aid Department are here to help and are now on campus. They also offer virtual Drop-In hours where students can stop by and chat live with a Financial Aid Representative in English and Spanish.

On Campus Office Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Friday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The Career Center invites all students to participate in our Fall Job Fair. Our goal is to provide you with an opportunity to speak with employers who are hiring and find out more about their company. Even if you are not looking for work, you may see an employer you would like to know more about, so this is a great opportunity to do that as well! Once you register, you will get an email with the link to the employer sessions. 

 

Let’s Talk About Mental Health

Join us as we talk to Cañada’s personal counselor, Marcos Chacon, about how to recognize, normalize and destigmatize mental health. We will discuss how to start the conversation about the importance of mental health within our friends, families and communities. 

 

STEM Speaker Series: Taking advantage of the little things during your academic journey

Featured speaker is Yardley Ordonez-Hernandez. Yardley spent most of his life on the Peninsula and benefitted from the community colleges in the San Mateo County area. He took six to seven years at Ca­ñada College and College of San Mateo before transferring to Chico State University. Yardley graduated from Chico State in the spring of 2021 with Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering. He received an offer from US Steel POSCO Industries (USS UPI) in Pittsburg California to work as an Automation Engineer and loves his job, the work environment and the people he works with.
