FCC Launches Emergency Broadband Benefit

The Emergency Broadband Benefit will provide a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible families and households who are struggling to stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic. Qualifying households on Tribal lands can receive a discount of up to $75 per month for service. Eligible households can also receive a discount of up to $100 for the purchase of a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. 2020 & 2021 Virtual Commencement Ceremonies

Due to the emergence of COVID-19 early last year, Cañada College did not hold a 2020 commencement ceremony but promised our 2019–2020 graduates one at a future date. On Friday, May 28, 2021, Cañada Collegewill follow through on that promise by premiering the 2020 Virtual Commencement ceremony on YouTube at 5:30 p.m. The event will be followed by the 2021 Virtual Commencement at 7 p.m. Both ceremonies will be available to watch any time after the premiere and links will be shared with the campus the week of virtual commencement. Migration Celebration

The SMCCCD Dream Center Task-force will be hosting an event to celebrate the accomplishments of graduating, transferring and or degree receiving. Undocumented/AB540 students, students from mixed status families, and/or active Dream Center student allies from across the District. There will be a ceremony, entertainment, graduate speakers, and more!

Faculty, staff, students and administrators are welcome to attend! This special event is to recognize our EOPS students who are graduating and/or transferring to a university. It will include: Student Speakers, EOPS Student Awards, Faculty Acknowledgements, Individually Recognizing Student Graduates and Transfer Students.
