About Us

CC Promise1

Here at Cañada College, we are aiming to become a full model replication of CUNY’s Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) which assists students in earning associate degrees within three years by providing a range of financial, academic, and personal supports.

CUNY

ASAP is designed to help associate degree seeking students earn their degrees as quickly as possible, with a goal of graduating at least 50% of students within three years.  Due to a variety of stresses and responsibilities, too many students are not able to complete their associate degrees in a timely manner, if at all. ASAP helps to eliminate these stresses by providing students with the academic, social, and financial support they need to graduate with an Associate in Arts or Associate in Applied Science degree in no more than three years.  Key ASAP program features include a consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, small class size, required full-time study, and comprehensive and personalized advisement and career development services. Financial incentives include waivers of tuition and mandatory fees for financial aid-eligible students, textbook assistance, and monthly MetroCards for all students.

Some of the services the Promise Scholar's Program provides students are:

  • Monthly Incentives of $50 gift cards that can be used towards gas or a campus meal plan
  • Textbook Stipends - $300 given Fall and Spring Semester, $100 given for Summer
  • Waived Student Fees
  • Tuition covering students' first year at Cañada College
  • Individualized Academic Support and Counseling
  • Priority Registration
