Overview

Selective Admission | Early Childhood Education Program
The CCCApply application establishes the general admission to Cañada College. However, the Early Childhood Education (ECE) degree and certificate program has an additional selective admission requirement.
Selective Admissions Programs help ensure students are prepared for the academic, clinical, technical, and professional expectations of the field.
Completing the attestation & acknowledgment form is a required part of the Selective Admission process for the Early Childhood Education program and is necessary before you can register for ECE courses.
In addition, ECE 366- Practicum in ECE requires students to work with children in a licensed child care or educational setting. To participate, students must complete a background check and health screening. Students who do not meet these requirements may not be able to complete the practicum or earn an ECE degree or certificate.
If you have questions regarding program requirements or the attestation process, please contact Jamie Hui at huij@smccd.edu.

- Equivalent courses at California Community Colleges will be renamed with the same course number and name.
- Courses you have already completed will not change on your transcript. Don't worry about losing any progress!
