Cañada College Online Student Services are Available to You

Dear Cañada College Students:

Welcome students! As the college continues to conduct the semester in an in-person manner, we wanted to remind you that many student services remain available to you online. The services listed on this page are all available online as well as in person. The following services are now only available in person: Outreach, Campus Tours


General Student Services

Click on any of the following drop-down menus for a more detailed description of each student service.

Remote and in person counseling services are available for General Counseling and for our Counseling Support Programs (EOPS, Promise, TRiO, etc.). Please contact The Counseling Center at (650) 306-3452, email canadawelcomecenter@smccd.edu. Students can also visit the Counseling Center in Building 9 on the first floor. Spring 2023 hours are: 

  • Monday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

The Admissions & Records Office is operating online and in person, providing essential services through the end of each semester. They can be contacted at canadaadmissions@smccd.edu or (650) 306-3226. They are located in Building 9 on the first floor. Their hours of operation are:

  • Monday: 8:00 am to 4:30pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday: 8:00 am to 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

If you have a question and would like to contact Admissions & Records, you can submit your question through the Admissions & Records Assitance Form

Admissions & Records will continue processing transcript requests and forms; please access the forms on their website.

The ESO! Adelante Program supports Latinx, high-potential, first-generation college students, low-resource students and first-generation college students in their transfer pathway to San Francisco State University (SFSU) through transfer support programs at Cañada College and SFSU. They provide academic preparedness support, peer mentors and transfer informational workshops. Visit the ¡ESO! Adelante Program website for more information. The Cañada College Financial Aid Office is open for remote and in person services during our regularly schedule hours. Please visit the Financial Aid website where you can Ask Cody (our chatbot) general financial aid questions, get assistance from a staff member during our Zoom Drop-In Hours, apply for our annual scholarships, and submit your financial aid documents securely through the Financial Aid DropBox. All questions can be directed to our campus email at canadafinancialaid@smccd.edu or phone (650) 306-3308. Make sure to include your student ID (G number) in all communications. The Financial Aid office is located on Building 9 on the first floor.

The library is open on campus offering both in person and online services for students. The library website gives students information on types of services that are offered to students both online and in person. The library is located on Building 9 on the third floor and is open during the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Saturday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Sunday: Closed

Students can also email the library at canlibrary@smccd.edu for questions and other online services the library offers students. 

If you need a Chromebook, Laptop, WiFi hotspot, or calculator use the Student Technology Request form. Be sure to include your name and G-number. You will receive a response to your request to notify you if equipment is available and instructions for receiving it. Please note that supplies are limited and we may not have the exact equipment requested available. 

Students can make both in person and remote appointments with the Counseling Center by stopping by in Building 9 on the first floor. If you are not registered with the Personal Counseling Center, please email us at canadawelcomecenter@smccd.edu to get guidance on registering with the PCC. Online Tutoring and Mentoring

The Learning Center and STEM Center operations are both in person and online. Tutoring for the majority of subjects (Math, English, Social Sciences, Sciences, etc.) is available online. Tutoring is available for in person and online the majority of subjects (Math, English, Social Sciences, Sciences, etc.) via Zoom. In addition, outside of our scheduled hours, students will also be able to use NetTutor, an external tutoring platform that provides additional access to tutoring. The STEM Speaker Series invites veryone to listen to the presenters, most of whom are Cañada alum. We will have the same format as in-person speaker series, except no back-row seats! You can submit your questions to the speaker and get answers. If students can’t make it during the live session, a recording will be available soon after on the Canvas page. The Peer Mentors at Cañada College are here to help you adjust and succeed! Peer mentors support their student mentees by encouraging them to embrace college life and increase their knowledge about resources that will help them succeed. Our Virtual Campus website provides you with online education resources and information on how to access student services online.

Current students who need access to internet and technology equipment or software required to complete coursework, are eligible to borrow available equipment such as Chromebooks, hotspots, and graphing calculators. Students can order their textbooks online to have them shipped to their address, or have them ready for pickup. This can be done across all colleges in the district.
