The Office of Equity is rolling out a new professional development opportunity—access to the Intercultural Development Inventory.
The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is a globally recognized, statistically reliable, and valid assessment tool that measuresintercultural competence—your capability to shift cultural perspective and appropriately adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities.
What You’ll Gain:
- A Deeper Understanding of Yourself:
- Receive a personalized, confidential profile that shows your developmental orientation for navigating cultural differences.
- Targeted Feedback:
- Get a one-on-one debrief session with an IDI Qualified Administrator to interpret your results.
- A Personalized Development Plan:
- Receive a customized plan of action to enhance your intercultural skills.
Time Committments:
- Complete the IDI Online:
- You'll receive a personalized link from an IDI email to the 50-item online questionnaire.
- It takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
- Individual Debrief Session:
- Schedule a one-on-one, confidential session with your IDI Qualified Administrator, Dr. Michiko Kealoha, to review your results and discuss their implications.
- Receive Your Development Plan:
- Get a customized plan with activities and resources to help you grow.
Interested in doing this with your college team or organization? Ask Michiko for a group profile workshop, where your team can receive a customized session with the anonymous aggregrated snapshot of your team's collective mindset and skillset for navigating cultural differences. By understanding your team's developmental orientation, you can pinpoint specific strategies to enhance communication, reduce misunderstandings, and improve overall collaboration.
