Part-Time Promise Program
Overview
The Part-Time Promise Scholars Program is designed for students who are committed to registering for 6 to 9 degree-applicable units per semester. It offers comprehensive academic and financial support to help students reach their educational goals, whether that's earning a certificate, associate degree, or transfer degree, within up to three years.

Eligibility Requirements
- Open to all majors (STEM majors are reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
- Enroll in at least 2 degree-applicable courses each semester, including summer
- Submit the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application annually
- Have an educational goal of completing a Certificate, Associate Degree, or Associate's Degree for Transfer
- If you have previously earned units, the maximum amount you can enter is 30 units.
Please note that submitting the interest form to the program does not guarantee admission. Once the interest form is submitted, admission is based on:
- Educational goals
- Spots available
- Previous units
- Reviewed by PSP counselor

Program Expectations
To remain in good standing, students must apply the Rule of 2’s:
- Attend at least two counseling appointments per semester or as needed
- Attend at least two Promise workshops per semester
- Complete a minimum of two degree-applicable classes each semester, including summer
- Keep a GPA above 2.0
- Must register for the majority of units at Cañada College every semester
- Submit a mid-semester progress report
