Overview
The Promise Scholars Program provides students financial and academic support for two-three years. The program includes textbook assistance, dedicated counseling and career support. The Promise Scholars Program will provide students with participation incentives to be used on education-related expenses. Students who demonstrate academic progress and program engagement will receive these incentives throughout the academic year.
The program is open to degree or certificate-seeking college students who can commit to attending Cañada College. Take a look below to see if you are eligible for participating in either our Full Time Pathway or Part Time Pathway.

The intention of the Promise Scholars Program is to accelerate your path toward achieving your educational goals. The Promise Scholars Program is more than a scholarship; it is a commitment to engage with the program by attending counseling appointments, career development workshops, and utilizing the program’s resources. All Promise Scholars are welcomed into a supportive, engaged, and inclusive community – a home on campus.

How do I qualify?
- Seeking to earn their first degree or certificate from Cañada College
- is a first-time college student or a student who has not earned a college degree AND who has earned 15 units or less (dual-enrollment units and Middle College units are not included in this limit)
- Apply to financial aid annually
- Commit to being a full-time student (12+ units)
- If you cannot be a full-time student, choose our part-time pathway
- Is a resident of California, or have attended a California state high school, GED, or adult school
